Watering tomatoes and playing

Hannah is always so happy when she gets to go outside to play. She is such a summer baby.

One of her favorite thing to do is swing on the big girl swing (as she calls it).

She got a little worried that Oreo (our cat) might get her toes I told her that he wouldn't but she still wasn't so sure about that.

Oreo loves climbing in trees.

Next Hannah and I got a watering can and watered the tomato plants. We hope that they will grow. :)

Obviously I didn't know what I was getting myself into because she went back and fourth about 20 times watering every plant in sight.

Hannah was very happy to water the tomato plants. She loves doing jobs.

More and more plants, she loves to water plants. :)

That evening Carter was practicing his batting

Hannah's first hair cut

I came in from playing outside to find that Hannah was getting her first hair cut. She was so cute.
Hannah was so happy to know that she was going to get a bath afterwards, she loves baths. I guess she thinks that there fun because it's like swimming in a pool.
There she is when it's all finished mom says that we will probably have to come back and do it again after a couple of days to make sure that it is all even and trimmed, it hard to tell with all her curls.

Camping for the weekend

As soon as we got to our camper and unloaded all our stuff. We went for a walk.

Hannah loves to go on walks all through the camp ground.

The next day Hayden, Carter and I went to the beach.

Hayden made a big fort with a pond.

That evening I took Hannah outside to play. She loved playing with the rocks.

Day at the Capital

Our day at the capital was very fun and educational for all of us. When we first got to Richmond we went to the Richmond Library. We needed to get our tickets and it was also where we listened to the opening speech for the day.

After that we had some time before the first tour so we went to the observation deck of City Hall. We got a bird's eye view of the city of Richmond.

Then we went to the Capital to do our first tour of the Senate. Also to look in the museum.

On the way there we passed by the hotel where my mom used to work as a waitress.

In the Senate room we got to vote on a bill and do a trivial question.

It was fun getting to vote on a bill and be in the chairs of the people who help make our laws.

The board on the wall was the voting board that showed each of our votes.

That is Henry Clay. In that picture he was telling the people why they should vote for him.

This Picture is of Thomas Jefferson in his 70's he lived from 1743-1826

The interesting thing about this dome is that you can only see it from the inside, on the outside of the capital it looks like a roman temple style roof. They think this is because Thomas Jefferson wanted a roman temple look on the outside of the capital . But the people wanted a dome so they compromised and they made what we call a inside dome.

This is the mace that is still used today to symbolize the important political and legal traditions. This mace was presented to Virgina House of Delegates by the Jamestown Foundation in 1974.

This is a statue of Robert E Lee. That was where he stood to say the speech below.

This is the actual first model of the capital

George Washington had a Sculptor make a life size statue of himself. It took about 2 years. That statue is how we know that he is 6ft 2in and the actual shape of his face.

In the museum there was a model of the Capital that was made during the extension.

Here is the entrance to the Capital now.

That circle on the ground is a source of light for the building underground

That's the Governor's Mansion.

Everyone had lots of fun but we where all tired out by the end of the day and ready to go home.
