Our Beach Vacation

Back in August we planned to go on vacation to Hatteras on the 10th of September for a week.  After hurricane Irene came through we couldn't get to the house because of all the damage.  Thankfully we found another house in Southern Shores that was just as perfect, and so we were still able to go.

We arrived at our house around 3:00 and we unpacked our van and trailer. Our friends the Bass's came to and they arrived about 30 minutes before us.  After we unpacked everything we played together and had Dinner.

On Monday (11th) we had breakfast and all the men went to look for the best beach to go to.  Sometime after the men left we all got in the pool.

It was a lot of fun.

All the girls, we were a little outnumbered because there was seven boys.

The next day we went to the Southern Shores beach.  It was very windy and the water was rough.  There was also a steep drop off right were the waves broke.

Thankfully we were still able to get in the ocean and even ride in some waves.

Hannah really enjoyed playing in the sand.

She didn't like the ocean though.

The next day we went to Corolla beach, it was a lot different than the Southern Shores beach.  We had to park our van about five miles away in a parking lot and ride in the back of Mr. Bass's truck.  Thankfully it had a camper shell.  The Corolla beach had very soft sand though and the ocean stayed very flat and shallow.

That day we built a huge sand castle, mostly Hayden did all the hard digging though.  :)

The finished castle.

On the 14th it was Moms birthday.

Hayden got mom a smoothie maker that we all enjoy.  Bradley and Carter got her some bag clips, and I made an apron with all of our hands on it.  Also, Dad got her an electric tooth brush.

I also made her a Birthday banner.

The next day we went to Corolla beach again.

Elijah really enjoyed the beach.

That ends our trip; it didn't feel like a week at all.  Hopefully we will get to go back next year and make more memories together.

To God be the Glory,
Heather
